Founded in 1994, the Chamber supports local businesses in their dealings with local, state and federal government agencies.

Serving on committees of the Shire of Capel over recent years, we’ve assisted to establish:

  • New large road signs erected on Bussell Highway either side of the town site of Capel, resulting in significantly increased tourist visits to the town.

  • Upgrade entry statements and signage on Capel Drive, Goodwood Road and hopefully Spurr Street, making the town more welcoming to passing visitors.

  • Revitalise and develop the Capel town precinct, including the installation of an RV dump point, new parking and new facilities that will continue to be installed or upgraded over the next two to three years.

  • Agreement on procedures for the installation of Metal Horses, a project started by the Chamber and now close to implementation.

  • Bring into law a new roadside advertising sign policy which allows businesses to erect signs along major roads such as Bussell Highway and South West Highway.
