ABC News: The long term impact of coronavirus on youth unemployment

Young workers are over-represented in occupations most directly impacted by the early economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic most notably hospitality, retail, sport & recreation, the arts and child care. Younger workers were already ‘doing it tough’ with 15-24 year olds already experiencing 12.2% unemployment rate in February and youth underemployment, those wanting more hours work, rising to 18.3%.
